GEEK!January 24: As I spend my days at home waiting out the higher ups at the workplace (I'll get to the bitching on that one later). I'm spending a lot of time on the internet. Ebay, design sites, blogs...you know. Found the geek test through May's blog, and apparently: My score was 25.24655%. I had no idea so many events qualified me as a geek. I've been dumped at a dance (c'mon five years later he came out of the closet--can you really count that?). I've worked at a Renaissance Faire (okay, I should have known that one was a point or two). I want a yurt (portable housing--what's not to love?). And both Scully and Mulder (really, how do you choose? I would totally sleep with either of them!). Dave made me learn the html to blog in (otherwise it's just cheating apparently)--so obviously I married a geek. I'm seeing the issue now. Woo Hoo for geeks! Pourquoi?January 5: Why did Alliance Française raise the tuition to $525 per class? WHY? Do they think I'm loaded? Why will people not move into the center of a subway car? I don't particularly want to go to work anymore than y'all do, but it's gotta be done. The least you could do is help us all get there on time! Day 5 of New Year and I still haven't made it on time. Why are the spices at Citarella so much cheaper than the regular supermarket? Cinnamon sticks from McCormick at Gristede's are over $8! Cinnamon sticks at Citarella are $3-4! And the jar is glass, not plastic. One more reason to avoid Gristede's other than the fact that their meat is gross and the stores are never clean... Just some things that have been bugging me lately. That and the fact that the pants that have always been too big for me (but they were on SALE!) fit this morning.
Happy New YearJanuary 4: I have two resolutions for the New Year: 1. Get to work on time (HAHAHAHA). 2. Go to yoga because both pairs of blue jeans are...shall we say a wee bit tight? It's day 4 of the new year and I still haven't been to work on time and I missed yoga yesterday because I was down with some sort of stomach yuckiness. I've been sick non-stop since Thanksgiving and I'm getting a little tired of it. And desperate. So desperate that I'm going to investigate the supplement aisle of the drugstore today. I don't go in for that stuff much, but desperate times and all that... I spent all of Christmas down with strep throat. We drove 500 miles for me to spend the entire weekend in bed with a fever. Woo. Hoo. New Year's was spent on the sofa. I'm so exhausted. Being miserable is hard work! I keep looking at this photo to cheer myself up--look at my little cutie nephew! This was taken the night before Christmas Eve before the evil germs took me down. The kid is just so damn cute! |
