Happy New Year!

January 4: My resolution this new year is to be a better blogger. I was chastised by a friend for disappearing for so long--and for not having the common courtesy to at least hang up a "taking a break" sign. Sorry--I didn't know you actually read this thing!

Let me sum up the past few months: Bite closed abruptly just before hitting the six month mark. We ladies took these photos thinking we would do something with that snarky NY Times reporter who called us "reasonably appealing", but since that morning when she loaded out the show without telling anyone (not even the theater manager) it has taken on a different meaning for me. We are so much better than that *&%*$ BITCH. Professional behavior? Check. I could go on and on and on, but it really comes down to professionalism doesn't it? You should get some.

Dysfunctional Theatre's second annual production of The 8: Reindeer Monologues opened on December 2nd to a sold out audience. I was Blitzen this year (the one in the suit).

In the midst of all the theater madness I was also leading a co-op board revolution here on the Upper East Side. This was the main reason I did not write for so long--the only thing I wanted to talk about to anyone was the insanity that is my building, one resident in particular. I didn't think it was appropriate at the time to post about it and I'm still not 100% certain. I don't have to name names, but the level of paranoia that has been raised by this resident makes me convinced she'd do something in retaliation. You know, other than glue people's locks shut. You heard me--glue people's locks shut. Or stealing my mail and writing weird religious notes all over it and shoving it under my neighbors' doors. Yep. This person we've been trying to take out of power here is that freakin' insane. There's a novel in this and when I recover from the trauma I might just write it. Chapter 3 will be entitled, "She wrote the dog a letter". You read that correctly--she wrote the dog a LETTER. Hmm--clearly I don't have a problem with putting this madness out on the internet. Who knew?

My year was closed by a Christmas trip to the in-laws upstate. The town's water supply was infected with E.coli (!), upstate is dull as dry toast and then I came down with a nasty chest cold. That did not stop me from spending New Year's Eve with many dear friends! After a delightful dinner party at Dave and Janis' new apartment (cue massive real estate envy...) I ended our night out around 5 am shamefully drunk off my butt with Amy and Justin and my Dave.

Amy was drunk too, but who's counting?
