Kittens!February 23: What is up with my fascination with Kittenwar? I love this site. I also offer up the ever popular Cuteoverload. I can waste so much time on these sites at work. Of course then I just end up wishing I was at home with Bogie Kitty. Kay came over for some sewing yesterday--she is rockin' out with those log cabin squares! By the way, I am so down with people bribing me with scones and tea for some machine time... I have to continue with my cat theme though: Bogie was being so unusually social it was really weird. He sat on the window sill right behind us for most of the sewing session. He even put his paws up on Kay to say hello! Bogie is usually so shy that it takes him a lot of time to work up to being bold enough to come in the same room with new people. Kay is one special chick, I tell ya. Anyway now I'm feeling terribly shamed at my recent lack of sewing machine action. Must. Begin. Sewing. Stay tuned for updates...
Back HomeFebruary 17: Back home from Nashville now--the show really wasn't much of a success for me, sales wise at least. It was, however, great fun and I had the opportunity to talk to lots of other designers, etc. I learned a little more and hopefully grew a little bit. I have some photos to share on imagestation: Nashville 2006.
A friend said I look like an Ann Rice character in the glowing red eyes photo--I like the idea of that so I'm not bothering with Photoshop! I promised more pictures of Bogie Kitty for Lexie, but don't have anything at the moment (I tried last night, sweetie, but he kept moving!). Here's my darling as a little kitten being THE CUTEST CAT ON EARTH! PanicFebruary 6: Why do I never learn? I've had all year to get ready for Nashville and here I am down to the wire scrambling as usual. It's like those nights in college when I would stay up all night writing the paper while reading the book for the first time (a system that mostly worked, I would like to point out!). I'm still tapping my foot waiting for a frame for one piece so I can take the cover photo and get it printed (can you say late night trip to Kinko's?!?!). After that it's just a matter of stuffing the charts into the packaging at this point. Those charts? I'm still merrily printing out the last one. I was tossing and turning all night long. I'm always suffering from insomnia, but this was BAD! Insomnia times ten. I should have gotten up and worked some more, but I read somewhere that you should only do restful things when insomnia strikes. Restful? I'm not sleeping, damn you! It's not restful! No pictures of what's new for market this year--I'll show you when I get back! One is a sweet (well, I think it is) baby sampler and the other is a marriage sampler. I mostly hate all cross stitch/embroidery pieces for babies and marriage so I thought I'd give it a go myself. Enough with the crap teddy bears and wedding bells and doves! Yuck.
P.S. Ain't bloggin' at work fun...
