The never ending shrugApril 23: The meditative stockinette of my shrug carries on. I'm now a little more than halfway across the back. My wrists have been aching a lot lately so it's slow going. This section of the shrug brought to you by "Ghandi" and three episodes of "The Tudors". Life has slowed down to a crawl--much like the knitting of this shrug--and that is a damn good thing! Dave went to the UK for a friend's wedding, he came back and I went to Boston to watch my sister run the Boston Marathon--finally! She ran a personal best of 3:11:57 and her fiance, David, and I decided that the Boston Marathon course is very spectator unfriendly. At least to us. It goes in a STRAIGHT LINE! We tried to do our usual thing of seeing her around mile 17 (my block on the NYC Marathon route) and then a bit before the finish (the 5th Ave swing into the park). In Boston, mile 17 involves a long ass trip on the T to somewhere in the boonies. We didn't see her anyway! She ran right past us idiots and we didn't see her! WTF??? The road wasn't even crowded, we just suck aparently. We did see her at the turn on to Boyleston about 1 mile before the finish line. She was in the zone and didn't hear us screaming our heads off though. Bummer. But hey there Miss Mary--congratulations on getting that personal best in the freakin', freezing rain!!! My feet are still numb...
Woe is Me, I have no cameraApril 9: Dave is in the UK this week. I hear he's drinking beer a lot. There's a wedding he'll go to later this week, but I think there will beer at that event too. He has the camera so I can't show you the ten inches of stockinette I've gotten done on the back of the shrug. It's amazing how slow this thing grows during episode after episode after episode of Law & Order. Yesterday was Easter and I celebrated with the Dysfunctionals--Theresa sent me via MySpace a photo of me in some bunny ears at the bar. I'm not going to share it, but I'll show you the photo her husband, Jason, took of all of us the week before. These are my friends, I love them. |
